To plan action for 5th year anniversary of Iraq invasion and occupation on Wednesday, March 19 at Representative Burgess Office in Lewisville

We are rapidly approaching the 5 year anniversary of the occupation of Iraq. Peace Action Denton has marked the passage of each year with a public event. We must keep this issue on the front pages of the news and in the fore front of people's minds. Peace Action Denton has just begun the planning stages for this event. We invite you to assist with ideas and energy. Let’s take our message and our questions to the office of Rep Burgess.

Demonstration to Shut Down Guantanamo

Demonstration to Shut Down Guantanamo Friday, January 11, 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. On the sixth anniversary of the first prisoners being brought to Guantánamo, join other human rights activists in Dallas and throughout the nation in demanding that the prison be shut down. A demonstration will take place in front of the Earle Cabell Federal Building, 1100 Commerce St. in Dallas.     Anna Baltzer is coming back to Texas with her new talk and a new book!

    Anna, a Jewish American Columbia graduate, Fulbright scholar, and volunteer with the International Women's Peace Service, is touring the country with two presentations and a new book describing her experiences documenting human rights abuses in the West Bank and supporting nonviolent resistance to the Occupation.

    Anna' will present "Life in Occupied Palestine: Eyewitness Stories & Photos," which covers checkpoints, settlements, demonstrations, Israeli activism, censorship, the Separation Wall, and more. Providing photographic documentation and critical information often misrepresented or ignored in the Western media.

    Anna will be selling and signing copies of her new book: Witness in Palestine: A Jewish American Woman in the Occupied Territories
